Kasey and I didn’t meet as high school sweethearts, actually far from it. Besides age, we went to high schools that were half the country apart. Even when we did meet for the first time, it didn’t go well. In fact, when asked during a game a motorcycle gathering, we both gave our first day a “0”.
We are all going to do it, fall on a motorcycle. Forget ease overs and others way to cover it up, the best way to fall on motorcycle is finding that one you want to ride with the rest of your life.
We met online with different approaches. I was working freelance so anyone that I met at work was also a client, so not any opportunity there. Online was my best option.
Kasey didn’t intend to get online, she had help in the form of a niece that created a profile for her without her knowing it. I was one of the first prospects that showed up.
After talking online several days and evenings, we decided to meet for lunch. The first meeting spot wasn’t open for lunch, so we made the short drive to Plan B.
Lunch didn’t go well, between me being overzealous with eye contact, and her hiding behind her hair, there was just no connection.
A few days passed, including her son’s birthday party, and I reached out back to her through text. Surprised I wanted a second date, I knew I had to take a different approach. That new method was my secret weapon, my Honda VTX 1800c Motorcycle.

I don’t think we made it 15 miles down the road before the first, “I Love This” came through the earphones on the motorcycle intercom system. Repeats of that phrase would come as we wound our way deeper into Hoosier Backroads and wooded lanes.
Wrapping Up with Key Insights
I often hear stories about how fellow motorcycles have gone down. I’m a member of that club, nothing serious. It is never a question of if, but when.
So, when it is my turn to tell a story, sometimes I tell them how you can fall the right way.
