After about a week of rain, snow, and the temperatures that can create snow, we changed our plans and started to head south, back into Albania. Our original plan was to get to central Albania, and then head east to Macedonia. We have decided to head all the way south in Albania, and travel along the Greek Border back up to Macedonia, if the weather holds.
Our first stop was not too far south of the border. We parked at an old church and cemetery. We were on solid ground, and the neighbors were quiet. Although, we might have made them angry, judging from the nightly wind and rain storms with lightning and thunder. All in all, it was a quiet spot, and warmer than we had, and NO SNOW.

After two nights, we moved on again, this time into the town of Shkodor. There was another place to park next to a Military Memorial. While we were shielded from the wind, the rain continued, but the area had lots of visitors, including people talking loud, and dogs that engaged in a fight. We did take a look at the Memorial in the morning. Nearly all those buried here were World War One and Two Era, many of them in their 20’s and late teens when life was taken from them.

We only stayed the one night, and made our way back through the city, and then down a familiar road, the highway on the west side of Albania. We stopped at the SPAR we had shopped before, and over filled a basket with groceries.
Ten minutes later, we were at Camp Agri Italiano. After buzzing, the host came and opened the gate for us, showed us to a spot, helped us, and offered bread in the morning.

For the first morning we decided to opt for croissants from the bakery. No need for butter, the come with a creme filling, usually chocolate. It’s a great way to start the day, trust us. The second day we went for fresh sliced bread. It was just as tasty.
Rain continued in the skies, and we settled in while Rodney planned the next couple of days. We would return to a couple more familiar spots. The first would be Camping Tirana, the first place we stayed in Albania. It was Saturday, and a great place to sit through weekend rain until we could go and get our gas bottle filled. After that stop, we made our way back to the Big Market to pick up a few things.
To leave, we had to make our around and through Tirana. We are amazed at the number of apartment building, existing, and being built. Our next stop was another campground, this one in the town of Elbassen. It was far from perfect for us, as it was small, and we were about the biggest camper, at about 8 meters, that could fit in here. The pictures on Park4Night show it very crowded. Thank goodness for it being the off season.
We stayed for just the one night, and then headed west for the coast. There was a place to park just outside the town of Davjake in a National Park. Not the most private area, as we could hear coyotes and cattle passing by, as well as the cars on the street, and visitors to the restaurant across the road. We too visited the eatery, but it was just too salty for us. Neither Kasey or Rodney eat a lot of salt, so it just didn’t taste good on our palette.

The next day, we deciced to stay put, and get some work done. We cleaned up the camper on the inside, I got a beard trim. We then took a hike down the dirt road, and out on a gravel walkway between a stream and the lagoon. It was a great little hike. The park is very nice, with several sign to keep it clean. It featured picnic tables, grilling areas, and some play features for the kids.

After we returned, there was still some daylight, so we caught up on recording some videos. They will be out soon, and we making a push to make them more up date.
The next day we took it bit easier, but we did do the chore of grooming Salsa a bit. So her fur got mixed with my beard hair, since it was easy to do both at a picnic table. We were ready to move on, and further south along the coast. The weather is turning to warmer nights and pleasant days.
