Our second camping experience in Albania was just up the road about 30km. It didn’t take us long, and it also put a third of our way to the northern boarder of small country. After all our errands and traffic getting out of Tirane, we arrived as the sun dipped below the harbor. We were able to get parked, and met the host, Christian. He had two dogs, one that was curious and afraid of Salsa.
The weather was still warm during the day, and when another couple from Denmark showed up, and had their chairs our, I unloaded ours, and we enjoyed the quiet bay of water in front of us. It was capped off with another sunset.

A car joined the campsite later that night, a young couple from Germany. We were surrounded by water, but there was a road that we took a stroll down.

Salsa continued to make a friend out of Christian’s bigger dog, and it ended being an on and off relationship. We noticed as we drove in, and looked around, that a number, like a dozen, restaurants were around. Many of them sat empty all day, or only had a few customers. We decided to head out and get some local cuisine. We had a place suggested by Christian, but on the way, we were stopped by a pack of dogs. A man from an eatery came out and scared them off, so we thought we owed him some business.
It was a great meal, with dessert thrown in on the house. Salsa had good time, as his kids were also at the restaurant. I had Sea Bass, a locally caught and prepared meal, and Kasey had the Kabobs. It started with a salad, and ended with a fruit plate.

We felt like we had stayed long enough, and were ready to head north once again. We went to sleep after another beautiful sunset.

Once again, we didn’t travel far. Another 30km or so up the road we pulled into the town of Lahze, and a campground off the main road. It was far enough back, and blocked off that the road was not going to be a problem. They had hot showers, which we needed, and we went to sleep with the sounds of chickens heading back to the roost. The next morning, a big box truck camper pulled in. We were packing up and leaving, so we didn’t talk to them too much.
Back on the road the next day, heading further north, and just a few kilometers from the border. We were staying at Camp Legendia, or Camp Legend. The view was pretty legendary.

This would be a complete Camping Resort in the United States. It had a Chalet, Coffee Shop, Restaurant, Pool (with Pool Rules Sign), Playground and Lookout Tower with 81 steps to get to the top.

While we too advantage of the restaurant twice, we only ate inside the first night. We had sit down meal the first night, and took out pizza the second the night. By the way, pizza and french fries are very popular around here. Kasey had a spaghetti dinner while I had steak.

We had a great time in this little gem, that would be hidden if you driving along, but thanks to Park4Night, we knew where to go. We don’t get compensated for that mention, it the tool for camping over here.
Before we left, we had an issue with the kitchen faucet not turning on the water pump. After a lot of investigation, I saw that a wire came loose from the micro switch. I tried to fix it, but it didn’t hold. I don’t think we can get a replacement until back in Italy, in March.

We packed up, and made our way through town to get some cash. The place we wanted to go had a full, and closed parking lot, so I was able to position along a side street, and with the okay of a local official, I was allowed to stand long enough to get some money.
Next, was making our way to the border and crossing into our 9th country – Montenegro.
