We left the Tennis Academy Parking Lot, and headed for something a bit more wild, and a little less urban. We didn’t go far, we were just looking for another spot. By the time we go everything done and ready to travel it was mid afternoon by the time we stopped. Campers have a 3-3-3 Rule, no more than 3 hours of driving, and be set by 3. We were set by 3, but fell short of the 3 hours driving.

The spot we found was not far off the road, but the woods made it very secluded, so it was just what we needed. We had dinner, and settled in for the night. We had a couple of visitors, one stayed the night in their camper, but overall, very quiet.

The next morning, we had some joggers, hikers, mountain bikers and dog walkers pass by. All were quiet and respectful. I walked with Salas on one of the trails, then we had breakfast. We had spied an Aldi just back up the road, so went to do a little shopping before getting on the road. This made for three days without being in a campsite, and not having services, so we decided a campground was in order.

It was next to another National Park. Wasn’t the best place we had ever been, was kind of like a parking lot for campers, plus the reception area was only open for an hour a day. The electric pole only took coins, which we didn’t have many, so we got some services, but not enough of the juice.

This wasn’t a place worth of a second night, so we skipped the National Park, and headed out on the road. Along the way, not far from our overnight stop, we visited an dam. It had camper parking with electric hook-ups that would have been a much better place to stay. Another lesson learned.

I checked my email after we walked around the site, and saw that the next place we wanted to stop was waiting for us to arrive. We wanted to visit a castle ruin, but we ended down a long dirt road that had only a picnic table. We turned around, and headed for tonight’s overnight spot, another Farm Camp.

We arrived by the way of several scenic and curvy roads, and pulled into the Farm Campground. I thought I had picked our space, but more on that later. The host greeted us by name, and said he had been watching our videos while waiting for us to arrive. He gave us an extensive tour, enough that Kasey wanted to change spots. This Farm Camp was like a Farm Camp Resort! We were happy we would be spending two nights here. There are lounging areas, inside and out, nice showers and bathrooms, even an help yourself bar area, just keep track of your own tab.

Honestly, it was a hard place to leave, but we needed to make it further south, chasing the warmer temperatures. We made our way down the road toward another park spot. This one blew us away. Not far off the road, along a stream, with gorgeous views of a farm.

Before an very quiet night of sleep, I looked around the area on Google Maps and found lake nearby that was formed by a volcano. That wasn’t the only history of the place, as we found out as we made our way around the lake the next morning. Based on the water and an historical church, the are was rich with stories of the past.

I hope you will excuse the selfie, we need some practice, we know, lol.

After our morning hike, we headed back into another city, that would be Ramstein, as we were looking to get on base, and get a few things done in a more American-Friendly environment. This would be another parking spot, and would not be as rural as last nights, not even close.
