Finally On Our Way!

Want to see a video tour of our European Motorhome? Here it is:

It has been a month since we arrived in Europe and The Netherlands. Between the owner of Europe-Roadtrip, Harro, having a wedding, shopping and buying a motorcycle, taking off the first time with the bike rack bending, and coming back waiting for it to be fixed, it took a lot of time.

Not saying we haven’t had any adventures while were waiting, our first camping night, first parking night, shopping adventures, our false start and of course, the Venice of the Netherlands.

We need a quick meal, and the Pizza Point was not impressive, but it was pretty quick and easy.

Our first Park 4 Night Adventure, a very quiet area near the town of Anloo.

The Venice of The Netherlands didn’t disappoint. We had some struggles, but we got through it by visiting such a pretty area.

Our first stop was to another place we didn’t know about, but our faithful servant, actually he works for Harro, pointed us in the direction of the Dutch Sahara. Wasn’t a pretty day, but we were traveling and had grocery shopping, and fuel stop to make along the way. At the end was a Farm Camp, on the edge of the Dutch Sahara National Park. We are really leaning toward the Farm Camps. What are they? Basically, a farm has an area it is not using anymore so they turn it into campsites. You are often surrounded by horses, chickens, and other animals.

After arriving, and getting parked and level, the “neighbors” came by to great us. They were curious about the German Plate on the camper, and the Dutch Plate on the motorcycle. We enjoyed their company for a few minutes, and set up camp, including our awning and new chairs.

The next morning, it was time to start hiking. Thanks to the Gaia App for showing us the way.

After about two and half kilometers, we made it to this view, the Dutch Sahara. We also had another wonderful stay at a Farm Camp.

We stayed a second night, and our first stop the next morning was a highly rated Pancake House not far from the camping location.

After a hearty breakfast, with left overs packed in the fridge, we headed to try and see more of the Sahara in The Netherlands. Unfortunately, were blocked by no place to park. We stopped to see if we could find another place to go, and decided the sand was done with us, and we made our way onto Germany.
