First off, just want to let everyone know that we use an App called Park4Night. This app looks up places to camp and to park for the night. What is the difference? Camping is what you think it is, a campground provides a site, called a pitch over here in Europe, might have some extras like bath houses, thing to do, etc. Parking is like boon docking or dry camping, no frills, just a place to put your camper for the night. In order to do a long trip, like 18 months, you need to take advantage of free camping.
Parking is what we decided to do on the eve of picking up the motorcycle. We found what looked to be a nice spot near the dealership. What looks good on the web page, may not always look good for real.

It was a very nice spot, indeed. We made it harder on ourselves with our newbie anxiety. First, we weren’t sure the refrigerator was working correctly. We had just stocked up on groceries, so we wanted to make sure they were safe. We were okay, the gas was keeping things cold. We were also working ourselves up over the battery power, and ended up turning off the inverter that I had installed. It was not recommended, but it was working when connected to shore power and driving. We like while driving because it powers the Starlink, so we have internet while rolling.
Speaking of rolling, after a quiet night, we woke up ready to head to the dealership. Before securing the bike, we needed all new gear, so boots, pants, jackets and helmets were all tried on and purchased. The bike was registered before we even closed the deal. Thanks to Tymeck and Europe-Roadtrip!

After a quick test ride, we loaded up, and headed south, we felt like we were on our way! We had a campground picked out that was close to a big camping store. We had some more items to purchase. Along the way, we made a stop by a Windmill, Kasey had to see one up close.
Once again, what was on paper, did appear in reality. We thought we would have great view of a lake at the campground. Nope, trees blocked what could have been a great view. In addition, the campground was tight, small, and had a lot of permanent residents. Last night was free and impressive, and tonight was a let down, and we had to pay.
We had put 120km on this trip, and I was keeping an eye on the motorcycle rack, and my worry was justified. The main supports that extend from the camper frame to hold the rack were bending under the weight. We decided to go ahead and hit the camp store, Obelink, and then head back to Europe-Roadtrip.
We decided to not try and go all the way back, so we stopped at a Farm Camp about 20 minutes away. One of the days we stayed was Sunday, and nothing is open on that day, so we stayed an extra day.
The Fjordenhof Farm Camp was a wonderful start, and if you start your journey like we did with Europe-Roadtrip, this is a great place to spend your first night.

We also spent the Sunday re-assessing our plan, and coming up with something new. It also looked like we would have another week to wait until the rack could be modified. Monday, it was removed from the camper, and it wouldn’t been fixed until Friday, We were itching to go somewhere, and do something besides sit in a driveway.
